FIELD: aircraft engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed device comprises sealing elements arranged on outer and inner approach flaps, hold down mechanisms and additional seals. Every sealing element consists of sidewalls made like flap torsion box lines and flat bottom parts. Sealing element sidewalls are partially arranged inside flap torsion boxes to displace relative to flap skin, while their bottom parts are pressed together by hold down mechanisms arranged inside sealing elements and resting upon flap primary structure. Additional seals represents flexible tubular elements arranged along flap end face edges.
EFFECT: reduced aerodynamic noise, improved aerodynamic characteristics, larger range, and lower fuel consumption.
