FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: lid is designed for protecting solar cells during ground operation of spacecraft for different purposes. The device (passive cover), which is attached to the spacecraft solar cell has a cover with elements for fastening to solar cell carrier. The cover covers photoelectric converters of the solar cell. The cover is U-shaped. The side of the cover is in contact with the solar cell carrier. Optical pulsed electric radiators are mounted at the bottom of the cover on the side of the photoelectric converters of the solar cell. The said electric radiators are place in cells which are formed by intercrossing ribs mounted at the bottom of the cover. The ribs are perpendicular to the outer surface of the photoelectric converters. There are straps made from elastic material (for example rubber) on the faces of the ribs facing the photoelectric converters.
EFFECT: provision for carrying out functional tests on photoelectric converters of solar cells and monitoring continuity of circuits for tapping energy from the converters when testing spacecraft in the technical area of a launch site.
