FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing olefins from oxygen-containing compounds in a reactor using a fluidised zone for converting oxygen-containing compounds, which involves the following steps: a) bringing oxygen-containing compounds, which contain at least one oxygen atom and from 1 to 10 carbon atoms into contact with a catalyst, which contains an ELAPO molecular sieve with formation of a gaseous mixture, which contains light olefins, which are ethylene, propylene or their mixture and by-products; b) feeding the system into a single-step system for cyclone separation of a catalyst inside the reactor from the gaseous mixture; c) feeding gas into the second step cyclone, which is inside balance tank of the reactor and is outside the said reactor, where the second step cyclone system is designed for removing the catalyst from the gaseous mixture; d) returning the extracted catalyst to the reactor. The invention also relates to a device for realising the proposed method.

EFFECT: efficient removal of catalyst particles from an outgoing vapour stream with particles.
