FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of converting oxygen-containing compounds having at least 1-10 carbon atoms to olefins. The method is characterised by that it involves the following steps: a) bringing oxygen-containing compounds in a reactor into contact with a fluid catalyst containing ELAPO, with conversion of the said compounds to hydrocarbons, where the reactor has at least two zones: a first zone in which gas moves at higher speed than in the second zone, and b) feeding blowout gas containing a certain amount of inert gas into the second zone separately from the supply stream. The invention also relates to a device for realising the said method.
EFFECT: use of the invention prevents accumulation of undesirable by-products in dead zones inside the reactor and reduces amount of coke deposited on the catalyst in dead zones or on the surface inside these zones.
