FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method is described for producing 11-ethyl-11aluminatetracyclo [11.2.1.02.12.04.11]-hexadec-3(10)-ene (1). The method involves reacting an equimolar mixture of cycooctyne and norbornene with ethylaluminium dichloride in the presence of magnesium (powder) and a zirconocene dichloride catalyst in an argon atmosphere at room temperature for 8 to 12 hours.
EFFECT: proposed method allows for obtaining a new compound with high regioselectivity and high output 62-74%.
