FIELD: metallurgy, electrolysis.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to field of control of technological processes of non-ferrous metallurgy, particularly to non-contact electromagnetic method of molten metal amount measurement. Definition method includes voltage feeding, electromagnetic field excitation, receiving and measurement of parametres of electromotive force (EMF), appearing under influence of electromagnetic field, and definition and mass of molten aluminium by calibration scale. Voltage feeding is implemented from external source of alternating-current with frequency providing depth of skin effect not more than 1-2 cm per one of two co-axial windings. And excitation of electromagnetic field and measurement of electromotive force parametres is implemented in the other co-axial winding. Both windings are located by internal dihedral angle of steel ferromagnetic casing of electrolytic cell bath not contacting to aluminium melt and definition of mass of molten aluminium is implemented depending on voltage.
EFFECT: achievement of high accuracy of measurement.
