FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to electric engineering, specifically to methods of melting glase ice on wires of overhead electric lines. Method of glase ice melting on separated by isolating spacer bars bundle wires of overhead electric lines suggests to install distribution devices for ice melting on one or more overhead electric lines or on each phase of overhead electric line during reconstruction or new construction of overhead electric line in the zone of glase formation. Glase ice melting circuit is wired up depending on amount of wires in split phases using fixed bridging pieces and switches in distribution devices, and cross-section of wires in split phases is calculated from condition of their sufficient heating for glase melting by load operating current in a phase when this current flows in one wire of split phase only.
EFFECT: creation of cost-effective method for glase ice melting making it possible to melt glase ice on overhead electric lines with split phase without customer curtailment or any limiting of his electric power supply.
