FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: installation comprises a converter with controlled valves and a discreetly-controlled capacitors bank, which is supplied from a three-phase power transformer; output terminals of the converter through single-pole disconnect switches are connected to transfer bubars, at that the discreetly-controlled capacitors bank is connected in series between an output terminal of the converter and the disconnect switches. A control system with two realised control algorithms is connected to the converter, the discreetly-controlled capacitors bank and the disconnect switches. The overhead line selected for glaze ice melting is connected to the transfer bubars through the linear disconnect switches and short-circuited from the opposite side.

EFFECT: ensuring universality, fitness for approved glaze ice melting at wires and protective earth wires, including multi-earth wires, overhead lines of different structures, different brands of wires, different length of wires coming from the substation where the installation is located.
