FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of ex-situ activation and passivation of noble metal catalysts on an inert carrier. A method is described for ex-situ regeneration and dry passivation of a porous catalyst based on a noble metal oxide on a carrier, involving the stages (a) regeneration of the catalyst in the presence of hydrogen and an inert gas, obtaining a regenerated catalyst, (b) passivation of the regenerated catalyst such that, the said catalyst remains dry and free flowing, using a method which involves stages for cooling in an inert atmosphere and filling pores of the catalyst with oil in the presence of excess liquid. A method is also described for ex-situ regeneration and dry passivation of catalysts (version), which involves passivation of the regenerated catalyst using a method which involves a stage for cooling in an inert atmosphere and holding the catalyst in air.
EFFECT: prevention of disruption of degree of dispersion of the noble metal and provision for a free flowing catalyst, high catalyst quality.
