FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to analysis of physical and chemical properties of materials and alloys and can be used in machine-building and metallurgy for nondestructive control of temperature of drawing objects from medium carbon steel, subjected to tempering and subsequent drawing. The method of pulsed magnetic control of temperature of drawing objects involves magnetising an object with unidirectional pulsed magnetic field with amplitude Hm and measuring gradient ∇Hm0 of the normal component of the field intensity of remnant magnetisation at the centre of the magnetised section after magnetisation. The object is then demagnetised with pulsed magnetic field of opposite direction with amplitude Hmp1 selected under the condition that, after demagnetisation of objects subject to drawing at minimal temperature for the given type of object using this field, the gradient ∇Hm1 of the normal component of the field intensity of remnant magnetisation at the centre of the magnetised section of the object equals zero. After demagnetisation, gradient ∇Hm1 is measured from the magnetised section of the controlled objecte, and drawing temperature is determined from the sum of measured gradients ∇Hm0+∇Hm1.
EFFECT: increased sensitivity of the measured parametre to change in temperature of drawing objects from medium carbon steel, which does not have unique dependence of measurement results of standard magnetic characteristics from temperature of drawing tempered objects in wide range of variation of the said temperature.
