FIELD: physics; computer engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to computer systems, specifically to an improved method and system for displaying information for a computing device. Data reception and processing is independent of whether the main computer system is in power-on state (online) or power-off state (offline). A cache which stores user application data for offline navigation may be updated with new data, either to change existing data in the cache or add a new navigation path. The received data can be processed to perform other actions, depending on the context of that data as determined by auxiliary processing.
EFFECT: provision for a mechanism for receiving new data using an auxiliary device connected to a main computer system, and processing these new data with software and hardware of the auxiliary device in order to perform certain actions.
