FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to plasma torch. Plasma torch allows plasma arc from arc-forming material, passing from the first electrode, on which it is fed high voltage, to the second electrode, located at a distance from the first electrode, herewith arc-forming material is in storage means and fed into plasma arc through exhaust opening, located in mentioned facilities, and lengthwise plasma arc it is located at least one collimator, provoking formation of plasma arc and providing its convergence, arc-forming material is formed by pair of at least one metal or metallic joint. Mentioned at least one metal is selected from alkaline metals, alkaline-earth metals or its mixtures or its joints. Mentioned at least one metal or at least one metallic component of metallic joint is sodium (Na) or potassium (K) or its mixture. Arc-forming material is in molten condition in storing facilities, which are outfitted by unit, implemented with ability of transformation of molten arc-forming material into steam. Mentioned unit, implemented with ability of transformation of molten arc-forming material into steam, is heater. Per self arc-forming material is the first electrode. The second electrode is earthed. Plasma arc (10) at least partly enveloped by casing (2) of burner, which provides ability of introduction of plasma arc (10) into casing (2) of burner and outlet from it. Casing (2) of burner is implemented in the form of element with double envelope, containing external and internal walls (5a, 5b), herewith between external and internal walls (5a, 5b) it is located coolant. Collimator (14) is totally located inside the casing (2) if burner and borders to its internal wall (5b). The second electrode us located from the outside of casing (2) of burner and is implemented as hollow. Arc-forming material contains component, which during its passing into excited state radiates intensive ultraviolet radiation. Mentioned element, radiating intensive ultraviolet radiation, is a substance, containing mercury.
EFFECT: invention provides efficient usage of heating owing to collisions, induced by influence on ions target of arc-forming material, which is in plasma condition.
