FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention concerns metallurgy field and can be used for manufacturing of chemically active and complex-alloyed metals and alloys for instance, such as titanium, zirconium, niobium, tantalum, chrome and alloys on its basis. In the method arc discharge is created in vacuum plasmatron with formation of vacuum plasma arc and effecting on it and metal melt by magnetic fields of two groups of electromagnets, top and bottom. Top group of electromagnets is provided for creating of oncoming to each other of basic and additional magnetic fields, providing regulation of vacuum plasma arc, forming, declining and moving it, and bottom group of electromagnets - for mixing of melt in horizontal and vertical planes. At that forming of vacuum plasma arc is implemented by means of extraction by basic magnetic field of arc column from interelectrode gap with formation of loop between plasmatron and molten pool by means of additional magnetic field. During melting process it is implemented induction values correction of basic and additional magnetic fields.
EFFECT: refining of melted metal and alloy by means of faithful reproduction of defined chemical composition and structure of received alloys at increasing of efficiency and productivity of facility.
