FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to manufacturing of refractory products and can be used in industry of refractory materials and in metallurgy. Method of receiving of cordierite is implemented by means of restorative melting of charge from dunite, brown coal and breakage of firebricks, providing content of aluminium oxide in foam silicate of stoichiometric amount of aluminium oxide in cordierite, with extraction and separation of metallic part of melt on the basis of iron melt. Silicate part of melt is cooled of drain into water with receiving of roentgen amorphous foam silicate, there are formed from it samples and they are heated at a rate 20°C/min up to temperature 940°C, at which it is happening self-propagating crystallisation cordierite. Iron part of melt is used in metallurgy.
EFFECT: receiving of cordierite from dunite without injurous additives of iron, cromium, nickel, sulfur and low-melt phases.
