SUBSTANCE: invention relates to wireless communication engineering and can be used in systems with diversity reception using several antennae. Reception diversity in a wireless device is managed in response to operating conditions, transmission requirements and control installation. Reception diversity management reduces power consumption by switching reception diversity in the given conditions. Operating conditions, transmission requirements and control installation are used separately or together to determine whether diversity reception using several antennae is beneficial.

EFFECT: higher transmission capacity, higher data transmission capacity, lower transmission power and lower error rate, higher value of diversity reception power.
