SUBSTANCE: invention relates to communications and can be used in a multi-channel communication system with multiple inputs and multiple outputs (MIMO). The rank forecasting method involves steps on which MIMO-channel matrices corresponding to level transmission for each tone are calculated, signal-to-noise ratios (SNR) are calculated for each tone based on the MIMO-channel matrices, SNR for each tone is converted to as to generate actual SNR for each level transmission, additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) values corresponding to actual SNR are calculated, the greatest Cap from the calculated is selected and the channel rank is forecasted for the next transmission interval. The wireless transmission device for rank forecasting has apparatus for realising said steps of the method.
EFFECT: matching inter-level interference and MIMO-amplification to maximise spectral efficiency.
