FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medications and concerns hydrogel, which can prevent penetration of microorganisms in body cavities or in holes in bodies of mammals, which contains poly (N-vinylactam), polysaccharide and water, with water content from 25 to 90 wt % and weight ratio of poly ( N-vinylactam) to polysaccharide approximately form 13:1 to 75:1, composition being completely reversible. Also described is method of inhibiting penetration of microorganisms into mammal body cavities, which includes introduction of hydrogel composition in body cavity.

EFFECT: hydrogel compositions by invention show disinfectant / sanation activity without antibiotic, in addition, proposed gel can self-restore after its destruction during their forcing through small openings in applicators.
