FIELD: physics; computer engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to entering information into electronic devices such as automatic teller machines, electronic combination locks and other multiple user electromechanical systems and electric appliances. When entering a character sequence, the keyboard used has a limited angle of viewing keys and is capable of randomly assigning functions to the keys and displaying respective characters on the keyboard. The user is stationed in the zone for unobstructed view of the key characters and initiates the process of entering the character sequence, after which keys are randomly assigned functions and respective characters on the keyboard are displayed. The user then enters the required character sequence which cannot be seen by an outside observer.
EFFECT: more secure entering of character sequences by users when working with electronic devices.
