FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building, particularly to couplings of various vehicles. Two vehicles hinged together, for example railway vehicles, or coupled autobuses comprise at least one bellows and one coupler. Proposed coupler consists of two coupling frames furnished with "male" and "female' coupling elements. To interlock aforesaid elements, each of them incorporates a retainer that moves in appropriate coupling frames and is coupled with force transmission element. The latter moves in appropriate coupling frame to transmit both expanding and pulling forces.
EFFECT: simplified coupler design.
