FIELD: information technologies.

SUBSTANCE: in the method for creation and authentication of electronic digital signature (EDS), secret key is generated as at least one vector of bit strings K, according to secret key open key Y is created as vector of bit strings with dimension number m where 2≤m<64, electronic document is received depending on which and on secret key value EDS is created as at least one vector of bit strings; depending on EDS, document and open key the first A and the second B of checking bit strings are created, A and B are compared. When their parameters coincide it is concluded that electronic digital signature is authentic. When implementing procedure of creation of at least one checking bit string operation of raising EDS m-dimensional bit string vector to integer-valued degree w>1 is executed.

EFFECT: increase in efficiency of algorithms of electronic digital signature without decrease in its survivability level.
