METHOD OF TREATING SEVERE CALCANEAL TALIPES VALGUS IN CHILDREN WITH PARALYTIC TALIPES OF 12 YEARS AND OLDER Russian patent published in 2010 - IPC A61B17/56

SUBSTANCE: it involves arthrodesis of subtalar, calcaneocuboid, talonavicular joints, excision of short extensor muscles with cortical bone from calcaneus, shortening of Achilles tendon, transplantation of tendon of long peroneal muscle on the calcaneus. There are performed: lengthening of tendon of anterior tibial muscle, extensor digitorum communis and extensor pollicis brevis. Capsular-ligamentous apparatus of ankle joint is dissected along its anterior surface. It is followed with arthrodesis of cuneonavicular, cuneometatarsal joints, open reduction in the first metatarsophalangeal joint. The obtained proper correlation in foot joints is fixed with Kirschner's wires delivered through calcaneal, ankle, shin bones; the first instep, cuneiform, navicular and ankle bones. The wire is delivered through the fourth or fifth instep bones, cuboid and calcaneal bone. The limb is fixed with a plaster bandage to the mid-third of hip in the middle foot position.

EFFECT: method allows eliminating all talipes components.
