FIELD: physics; signaling.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to apparatus for checking banknotes. In the device, measured values of one or more parametres of checked banknotes are obtained and the banknotes are classified by analysing these values at several verification stages, with the banknotes classified into at least fake, suspect and genuine categories, either suitable for reception or for subsequent issuing, and at least at one verification stage, necessary for deciding whether the checked banknote belongs to the given category. A combination of several measured values is created and the obtained combined parametre is analysed, for instance, by comparing its value with the associated interval of allowed values.
EFFECT: increased reliability of checking banknotes.
