FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: button-type input device with indicator function generates switching signal in response to pressing by User and comprises multiple lever-type buttons with transparent window on at least a section of them. One edge of every transparent window is fixed while the other edges deflect vertically. Switch base is arranged below multiple lever-type buttons, comprises cutouts corresponding to transparent windows and generates switching signal in response to actuation by whatever lever-type button with the help of switches arranged to mate flexible parts of said lever-type buttons. Indicator panel outputs images on sections corresponding to every transparent window. At least one part of indicator panel is located below aforesaid multiple lever-type buttons. Portable electronic device comprises button-type input device and button image control device. The latter displays images changing in response to switch signals on indicator panel sections corresponding to transparent windows.

EFFECT: reduced sizes, simplified production and operation.
