METHOD FOR PREDICTION OF POTENTIAL OPACITY OF POSTERIOR CAPSULE OF LENS Russian patent published in 2010 - IPC G01N33/53

Abstract RU 2382365 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to ophthalmology, and can be used in children underwent surgery of congenital cataract to predict potential opacities of posterior capsule of lens (OPCL). The method in ensured by evaluating the level of pro- and antiinflammatory cytokines and calculating an intraocular immunological index by formula. If the III is under 1.1, preserved postoperative transparency of capsule of lens is predicted, the III within 1.2 to 1.5 shows most probable late fibrosis of capsule of lens within 3-4 months after operation.

EFFECT: possibility to predict high risk of development of postinflammatory fibrosis of capsule of lens within first 3 months after operation, in case when the III exceeds 1,5.
