SUBSTANCE: invention relates to setting up a mobile terminal. The method involves a first step on which a visual image is selected for each of several status indicators from several stored visual images which correspond to associatively related status indicators, a second step on which a visual image is selected from several images stored as background elements of the main display screen, and a third step on which location of selected images on the main display screen is configured. The method can also involve a fourth step on which the main display screen is displayed in accordance with setup information of the visual image. Several status indicators include signal intensity indicator, incoming call notification mode indicator, warning signal indicator, incoming text message indicator, missed call indicator, current function indicator, current date/time indicator and battery level indicator.
EFFECT: method enables a user to configure the main display screen, selecting required visual images of respective status indicators and different background element images, indicator images can be easily read.
