FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method involves dissolving permanent magnet wastes which contain valuable rare-earth elements with a mixture of tributylphosphate and tetrachloroethylene with concentration of tributylphosphate of 5-80 vol. %, saturated with chlorine to its concentration in the mixture of 0.5-4.0 mol/l. After dissolving aqueous solutions of fluorides of alkali metals and ammonia are added to the organic phase to precipitate fluorides of rare-earth elements.
EFFECT: method enables intensification the waste recycling process by combining dissolving and extraction processes into a single step, reduction of corrosiveness of reagents at the precipitation step.
