FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemical technology, in particular to a method for extracting compounds of rare-earth metals from secondary magnetic material, which includes production and consumption wastes of permanent magnets Nd-Fe-B and Sm-Co, as well as magnetic materials extracted from radioelectronic scrap. Secondary magnetic material containing rare-earth metals is added to solution containing 3.5–5.5 mol/l of nitric acid and at least stoichiometric amount of carbamide. Extraction of rare-earth metals is carried out from the obtained solution using a neutral organophosphorus extractant diluted with a hydrocarbon diluent. Dissolution of magnetic material is carried out at temperature of 55–65 °C and pulp bubbling with air, and extraction is carried out in a cascade of centrifugal extractors.
EFFECT: method provides minimization of release of nitrogen oxides at the dissolution step with simultaneous increase of efficiency of extraction process of separation of group rare-earth concentrate with minimum volumes of work in progress and loading of extractant into cascade of centrifugal extractors.
