FIELD: construction, road engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention is related to rail roads and may be used in construction of railway and tramway tracks, and also metropolitan. Method for operation of rail road includes movement of transport means on it. Rail road comprises two guide rail tracks, which are produced by rails joined with gap. Rails are laid onto horizontal and/or inclined base of road. Rail road is intended for motion of transport means in the same direction with a speed that is higher than speed of motion in the opposite direction. In order to provide for motion of transport means in direction with higher speed of movement, ends of receiving rails are arranged closer to foundation of rail road compared to ends of giving rails arranged in the same gap.
EFFECT: reduced impact loads and noise that acts at environment, increased service life of rail road, trams, rolling stock, subway cars, reduced rail creep.
