FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: proposed group of inventions relates to seismic prospecting and is meant for exciting elastic vibrations in an aqueous medium. The proposed remote impact-wave method of launching an air-operated wave transducer involves using oscillators which generate a narrow-directed impact wave during exhaust in the near region, for example with a piston which is moved into the medium, and its launching element which is sensitive to the impact wave. Maximum distance for stable launching is experimentally determined for each standard size oscillator. Oscillators are placed in each string with provision for transmission of effect onto the impact wave sensitive launching element of each next oscillator from each preceding oscillator. Each next oscillator in the string is automatically launched without wires successively as a chain reaction with transmission of the launching signal through the impact wave in the medium column formed by the previous. The oscillator with automatic or waiting launching is taken at the first initiating oscillator in each string. The delay in launching each oscillator is created through given lengths of bearing elements of each string, which are selected such that they not greater than maximum values. The said method is realised using two-way air-operated transducers of given design.
EFFECT: more reliable operation of seismic wave source and increased power of the source.
