SUBSTANCE: air-operated percussion machine has body, hollow piston- hammer encompassed by hollow step rod connected with valve air- distributing box. Hollow piston-hammer accommodates plunger. Plunger end face and end face of step rod form system pressure chamber. With working tool pressed to worked surface, tool is engageable via plunger and hollow step rod with valve to engage tool in operation. Engageable with each other end faces may be coated with damping members. Such design of air-operated percussion machine ensures its reliable starting with tool pressed to mining face, that in its turn increases machine operate reliability.
