FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: use of said glass as an active element in lasers (amplifiers) increases generation (amplification) bandwidth and reduces the size of the microchip due to absorption of pumping radiation by the luminescence sensitiser in a thin layer. The luminescent germanate glass contains the following in mol %: GeO2 40-60, Er2O3 0.01-5, Yb2O3 1-28, B2O3 15-30, Al2O3 1-5, La2O3 1-25.
EFFECT: increased effective half luminescence emission band in the junction 4I13/2→4I15/2 of ions Er3+ (λ~1,55 mcm) and increased concentration of Yb3+ ions.
