FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to optical materials, particularly to Yb-containing optical glass compositions, which can be used as active media for lasers (including fibre lasers), which generate in the near-infrared region. The luminescent phosphate glass contains phosphorus oxide, (P2O5), silicon oxide (SiO2), aluminium oxide (Al2O3), boron oxide (B2O3), potassium oxide (K2O), barium oxide (BaO) and ytterbium oxide (Yb2O3)2, with the following ratio of components, wt %: (55-65) P2O5, (1-4) SiO2, (5-10) Al2O3, (2-6) B2O3, (10-14) K2O, (8-12) BaO and (0.5-15) Yb2O3.
EFFECT: producing glass characterised by effective wideband luminescence with a barycentre at λ≈1000 nm and suitable for use as a laser active medium.
