FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to systems of electric-slag re-melting with cold metal well (ESRCW) for refining and production of required metals, such as titanium, aluminium, nickel and their alloys. The system contains at least one reservoir of cold metal well capable to maintain a bath of melt liquid metal with an overlying layer of slag and a crystalliser, set off the cold metal well. A source of primary material - an electrode is arranged above the cold metal well and is introduced into melted slag during refining operation. A recasting baffle separates the crystalliser from the cold metal well preventing intake of inclusions and other foreign elements into the said crystalliser. In some cases a non-consumable electrode facilitates additional supply of heat energy into slag. During operation of production source of metal can contain at least one chemical composition for extraction of required metal out of it by electro-chemical method. Also here are disclosed methods of refining and production of metal, such as titanium alloys and the method of electrolyte production of metal in the system of (ESRCW).

EFFECT: facilitating reduced contents of inclusions and other impurities in refined slab due to implementation of recasting baffle.
