FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: invention is intended for pumping over liquid-metal heat-carrier of nuclear power plant operated in variable load conditions. Proposed pump comprises housing with fluid inlet and outlet branch pipes. Impeller vertical shaft 9 running in bearings and vertical shaft seal assembly 17 are arranged in aforesaid housing. Several layers of strong heat conducting water repellant 20 are deposited on pre-finished section of sealing assembly 17 and high-temperature section of vertical shaft that come in contact during pump operation. Surface finished class of shaft 9 makes at least 6. Water repellant 20 is deposited so that temperature gradient makes maximum value along the axis of shaft 9 while shaft material heat conductivity is smaller than that of water repellant 20.
EFFECT: longer life, better starting conditions and lower motor starting loads.
