SUBSTANCE: invention relates to television engineering and can be used in navigation systems and aircraft and mobile land objects anti-collision systems. The television range finder consists of a television sensor, a video monitor, a computer, a data output panel and a range indicator. The output of the television sensor is connected to the input of the video monitor. The output of the data output panel is connected to the second input of the computer which has an output connected to the input of the range indicator. There is also a signal level analyser, a coordinator of the lower edge of an object, an adder, a position angle sensor and a stabilised platform. The output of the television sensor is also connected through the signal analyser and the coordinator of the lower edge of an object to the first input of the adder whose output and second input are respectively connected to the first input of the computer and the output of the position angle sensor which is rigidly attached to the television sensor and the stabilised platform.
EFFECT: determination of distance to objects without information on their dimensions.
