FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing high-purity yttrium-90 involving separation of strontium-90 and yttrium-90 in a nitric acid solution and further purification of yttrium-90 from strontium-90 traces on extraction chromatographic columns with a solid extraction agent based on di-2-ethylhexylphosphoric acid, purification from inactive cation impurities on an extraction chromatographic column with a solid extraction agent based on octyl(phenyl)-N-N-diisobutylcarbamoylmethylphosphine oxide in tributylphosphate and purification of the obtained yttrium-90 from organic impurities on a cation-exchange resin.
EFFECT: obtaining high-purity yttrium-90.
