FIELD: chemical engineering. SUBSTANCE: method involves dissolving a sample after performing incineration and adding stable strontium and yttrium carriers, precipitating yttrium oxalate, weighing the oxalate, making measurements using beta-radiometer, calculating contents using mathematical relation. 40 mg of stable strontium and 100 mg of stable yttrium are added to the sample and after dissolving the sample, yttrium oxalate is precipitated under hydrochloric acid concentration being equal to 0.5 M and oxalic acid concentration being equal to 0.5 M. Hindering beta-radiation admixtures are removed after dissolving oxalate precipitate in 7 M nitric acid solution by means of sorption on anion-exchange resin. Preparation for making measurements is prepared by repeated precipitation of yttrium oxalate from solution of 0.5 M on nitric acid and 0.4 M on oxalic acid.
