HYDROTECHNICAL CHANNEL DEEPENED INTO PERMAFROST SOILS OF SLOPE AND METHOD OF ITS DEVELOPMENT Russian patent published in 2010 - IPC E02B5/02 E02B3/16

Abstract RU 2385986 C1

FIELD: construction.

SUBSTANCE: channel is deepened into permafrost soils of slope and comprises pit that forms channel bottom and its upper board, embankment that forms upper part of lower board, antifiltration device and protective device that prevents development of ice crust in channel and effect of discharge ground waters at antifiltration device. Antifiltration device is arranged in the form of screen made of rolled material or in the form of permafrost curtain made of ice soil in lower board of channel. Protective device is arranged in the form of tubular drain arranged near channel bottom and hydraulically communicated along its length to seasonal thawing layer of slope, or in the form of catch ditch comprising permafrost screen, which produces lower board of ditch. In process of channel development at first earth works are performed to deepen channel into permafrost soils of slope and shaping of boards and channel bottom, than channel is maintained for at least one autumn-winter period of the year. In period of maintenance they provide for supply of cooled water from seasonal thawing layer of slope to channel base in a limited amount, which is necessary to naturally restore water impermeability of upper layer of permafrost soils damaged in process of channel deepening. Bottom of channel is coated with a protective layer made of soil with specified grain composition, and channel maintenance is carried out together with protective device, in case it is arranged in the form of tubular drain, or - without protective device, in case it is further arranged in the form of catch ditch.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to improve channel reliability due to restoration of water impermeability of upper layer in permafrost soils and prevention of ice formation in channel.
