FIELD: weapon and ammunition.
SUBSTANCE: flaky composite material comprises a sheet of single-crystal sapphire, having at least one size of more than 25 cm. Transparent armour is proposed, which contains specified flaky composite material, as well as method for manufacturing of flaky composite material, in which sheet of single-crystal sapphire is adhered to substrate.
EFFECT: invention provides for protection against high-speed bullets in case of large area of armour surface and relatively low surface density.
