FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: communication system converts parametres of a special-purpose orbital model, which describes movement of a satellite given for a specific satellite position finding system, to parametres of a general orbital model which describes movement of the satellite. Alternatively or additionally, a network replaces a reference value, which is based on the time of the satellite position finding system and is included in the parametres of the orbital model, by a reference value which is based on the time of the communication system. After conversion of the parametre and/or replacement of the reference value, parametres are given as part of auxiliary data for satellite position finding. Alternatively or additionally, a set of data which is independent of the position finding mode used is sent in one direction between a mobile device and the communication system.

EFFECT: increased accuracy of locating a mobile device.
