FIELD: information technology.
SUBSTANCE: system and related methods manage attachment of digital images or any other multimedia to email messages using a relatively simple "insert-and-send" technique. A user can decide to attach or insert versions of images or any other multimedia with relatively low resolution, which are automatically published on a multimedia server, into an email message. A recipient of the message which is endowed with multimedia features can receive and view a text email message just like low-resolution images in the usual manner using email or another client; can choose to view one or more images inserted in the message at higher resolution by linking or activating these images, e.g. by moving the cursor on the selected image or another object and clicking.
