FIELD: physics, acoustics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to speech coding and more specifically to the problem of sparseness in coded speech signals. Sparseness is reduced in the input digital signal which contains a first sequence of sampling values. An output digital signal is generated in response to the input digital signal. The output digital signal contains a second sequence of sampling values, where the said second sequence of sampling values has higher density of non-zero sampling values than the first sequence of sampling values.
EFFECT: increased quality of coding speech signals.
