SUBSTANCE: invention relates to wireless communication and can be used for generating precoding unitary matrices for a MIMO system. Described are systems and techniques which enable calculation of the precoding index which in a certain relationship with the precoding matrix in the code book. According to various aspects, systems and/or methods which enable calculation the effective signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) are described. Such systems and/or methods can additionally enable selection of the precoding matrix and the corresponding precoding index. Such systems and/or methods can also enable use of a precoding matrix in a wireless communication MIMO system.
