FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to waste water purification methods and purification of waste water contaminated with phenol and its chlorine derivatives. To realise the method, oxidation with hydrogen peroxide is carried out in the presence of a catalyst with subsequent separation of the residue of insoluble polymer compounds. The catalyst used is water-soluble substituted iron phthalocyanines - iron tetrasulphophthalocyanine or iron octachloride octakis(pyridiniomethyl)phthalocyanine in amount of 1.3-2.9 mol %.
EFFECT: use of the said catalysts enables purification of waste water using a simple and cheap process of removing environmentally hazardous compounds from waste water.
