FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of modifying crystal habit of sodium mycophenolate salt which hasneedle-like crystals, to the obtained crystals and pharmaceutical compositions containing such crystals. The method is realised by suspending crystalline medicinal substance - sodium mycophenolate salt in a methanol/water system of solvents in ratio between 98:2 and 90:10, and exposing the said suspension to temperature fluctuations, where the number of fluctuations ranges from approximately 6 to approximately 16, with average temperature of 42-47°C and amplitude equal to ±5-7°C.
EFFECT: obtaining crystals of sodium mycophenolate salt, having average ratio of geometrical dimensions less than 10:1, and packed density greater than 200 kg/m3.
