FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: single-channel photomultiplier tube (1) consists of a sealed housing (4), one of the walls (5) of which has an inner surface (7) with concavity, having a central axis (AA') directed inside the tube, having a plane of symmetry and having a photocathode (2), and an input optical system (9) which includes electrodes. The tube has a secondary electron multiplier (11). The secondary electron multiplier has several dynodes (30-39), an anode (16), apparatus (12) for connecting dynodes (30-39), photocathode (2), electrodes (13, 15), optical system (9) and anode (16) with its operating voltage. The secondary electron multiplier consists of physically distinguished parts (24, 26) having combined symmetry of rotation about the central axis of the concavity.
EFFECT: shorter transmission delay time.
