FIELD: electronic equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electronic engineering. Photomultiplier consists of glass transparent housing, formed by vacuum calibration of glass tube with diameter of several cm. Two faces of housing (1) and opposite to it are flat, remaining two (2, 3) have initial radius. On inner surface of one of faces with initial radius is extended bi-alcali photocathode (4) with dimensions of active region of 10×200 mm2. Dynode system of linear type consists of 11 extended sputtered dynodes (8-18). Anode system consists of 20 anodes (19), every one is 10 mm long, arranged under dynode system along direction of length of photocathode and dynodes. Focusing electrode, dynodes and anodes are attached to ceramic support plates. During illumination of photocathode photoelectrons broken from it (25) under effect of electric field are accelerated towards dynode system. Due to small depth dynode system (about 30 mm) and relatively high electric fields in inter dynode gaps width of electron flow at the last dynode is considerably less than 10 mm width of anode, i.e. one such device is equivalent to 20 discrete photoelectron multiplier.
EFFECT: technical result is simplification of hodoscopes design and high spatial resolution of photodetector.
