SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of electronic equipment. First stage dynode for use in the photoelectronic multiplier includes a lower wall and a pair of side walls extending from both end sections of the lower wall in a predetermined direction toward one side. The electron emission surface is formed by the surface of the bottom of the lower wall on said one side and a pair of side surfaces of the pair of side walls on said one side, and each of the pair of side surfaces is a curved surface, curved in a concave shape in a section parallel to said predetermined direction. The width of the electron emission surface in said predetermined direction is L, and the radius of curvature of each of the pair of side surfaces is R, wherein R≥0.1L.
EFFECT: ability to suppress the difference in the transit time from the cathode and the transit time spread in a photoelectronic multiplier.
