FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: system transmits an optical signal from the input side of an optical network module of an HFC network to a coaxial distribution concentrator over a separate fibre optic connection element. The optical signal is converted to a standard radio-frequency signal which does not contain most of the distortions and noise. On the component of distortions and noise is extracted through summation in opposite phases of the standard radio-frequency signal with the distorted main radio-frequency signal which contains distortions and noise generated when the radio-frequency signal passes through coaxial cables and cascade coaxial amplifiers in coaxial communication lines of the HFC network. The component of distortions and noise is compensated for through summation of the extracted component of distortions and noise with the distorted main radio-frequency signal in opposite phases.
EFFECT: updating existing fibre-coaxial cable networks and design of such new-generation networks.
