FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a Fischer-Tropsch synthesis catalyst, a method of preparing the said catalyst and a hydrocarbon synthesis method. Described is a supported Fischer-Tropsch synthesis catalyst which contains catalytic material, a promoter and support material; where the catalytic material contains cobalt in amount of at least 4% of the mass of the catalyst and at least part of the cobalt has catalytic activity in Fischer-Tropsch synthesis; the promoter contains nickel in an amount less than the amount of cobalt; and the support material contains an oxide of a metal selected from aluminium, titanium or zirconium. A method is described for preparing the catalyst, where the support is impregnated with cobalt and nickel compounds, the impregnated composition is dried, annealed and activated. Also described is a hydrocarbon synthesis method in which synthetic gas is brought into contact with the catalyst described above.

EFFECT: increased activity, stability and selectivity of the catalyst.
